Black Lives Matter
In light of the current events of 2016 (which grieves our heart) we (ihlcc) thought we should share our thoughts concerning the “Black Lives Matter” movement. Generally, ihlcc will not voice their thoughts about the current events of the day because so many things come and go it is not worth the debate because if someone doesn’t say exactly what the other person wants to hear they are offended. We have learned no matter how sincere and honest a writer is they will always upset someone about something they say. Therefore, for peace sake we typically stay on the side of just preaching and teaching the holy Word of God hoping that all people will seek God’s Word for the answers to the world’s problems, knowing in reality that many people will not. As we were discussing the current state of affairs here in America we concluded that in this case we would openly share our thoughts and bare the persecution that comes with preaching the truth. We say truth because our hope is to steer clear of our own thoughts and doctrine by saying what God said about several items/issues that are going on at this time. The majority of the information shared in this article is principle based so we may not reference specifically the “Black Lives Matter” campaign but reading between the lines one may know what applies to just one movement or what applies to all movements in general. On that note we will discuss the subject of protesting by first looking at Matthew 12:18-21 Good News Bible (GNB)
18 "Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, the one I love, and with whom I am pleased. I will send my Spirit upon him, and he will announce my judgment to the nations.
19 He will not argue or shout, or make loud speeches in the streets.
20 He will not break off a bent reed, nor put out a flickering lamp. He will persist until he causes justice to triumph,
21 and on him all peoples will put their hope."
The most important issue in this life here on earth is receiving salvation from our Lord Jesus Christ. However, God did not see fit to make this grand announcement by protesting against the current leadership. Why, simply because the word “protest” in general means “to stand in objection of or in opposition to”. God is God and He is All Truth, so He doesn’t waste anytime disputing with people about all the wrong things going on in this world but rather He focuses more on projecting truth in sincerity because God’s Truth is the solution to all man’s problems here on this earth. Yes, the same message come one person or come all people. God knows there is more power in preaching/proclaiming His good holy word than speaking the idle words of circumstances or the empty voices of men. Yes, we know this is not the most popular position but it is God’s Way, so in essence we are not strong supporters of protest even if it is for a good cause. We do know that some protest have been successful to influence men to move in a certain direction against their own natural inclination. This is another reason why God does seem to endorse protesting because if men only do something to appease a crowd their heart is not really in it and that doesn’t work for God. We remember how the religious leaders protested against Jesus when both Pilate and Herod were determined to release him after some scourging.-Refer to Luke 23:1-25 Although we do believe that some protest are simply an outward cry for justice in the eyes of men there are also some protest that are not according to God’s Will because some men rely upon other men to fix their problems. However, we should all rely upon God because divine Justice according to God’s rule is inevitable. We as firm believers in Christ Jesus and the counsel of His Holy Word would rather cry out to God in our prayers unto Him privately knowing that He Is The Good and Faithful Judge of all flesh. Amen! The many injustices that multitudes of people appear to get away with on this earth pale in comparison to spending an eternity in hell. Thinking on that thought alone we seek God’s Mercy because ultimately God’s Justice over the whole earth will prevail by prayer and preaching, not “protesting” against other men.
Let us speak a little about authority because God ordained the offices of those in authority. When reading Romans 13:1-5 we see some instructions from God to help believers understand what is God’s Will concerning governing authorities.
Romans 13:1-5 1965 Bible in Basic English (BBE)
1 Let everyone put himself under the authority of the higher powers, because there is no power which is not of God, and all powers are ordered by God.
2 For which reason everyone who puts himself against the authority puts himself against the order of God: and those who are against it will get punishment for themselves.
3 For rulers are not a cause of fear to the good work but to the evil. If you would have no fear of the authority, do good and you will have praise;
4 For he is the servant of God to you for good. But if you do evil, have fear; for the sword is not in his hand for nothing: he is God's servant, making God's punishment come on the evil-doer.
5 So put yourselves under the authority, not for fear of wrath, but because you have the knowledge of what is right.
After reading these verses it is hard to argue against the authorities upon the earth because according to God’s Word authority is by Divine Design. We must notice verse 4 which states that policemen and policewomen are servants of God. This is comforting because as servants of God they will be accountable to God. Yes, even those who don’t even believe in God are subject to God’s Divine Justice simply because they hold a public office. In God’s Perfect world (Heaven) righteous people would fill all public and private jobs and execute good judgment according to (in agreement with) God’s Holy Word. However, many public servants don’t think that they will be (and currently are) accountable to God but they are. This means you don’t have to worry if bad policemen will have justice or not because ultimately each and every one of them will be judged by God for their deeds done in this earth. To the many good cops there is a reward including honor, peace and safety but to the bad cops judgment, disgrace and frustration when the day of reckoning comes. Don’t be deceived God’s beloved the day of reckoning comes to all because we all must give account of how we handled God’s freely given talent (ability, skill, career, gift) that He place in our care while we were on the earth. So don’t look for immediate vengeance because vengeance is Mine, saith the Lord I will repay according to Romans 12:19. If we could only learn to submit unto God’s Divine Judgment we would avoid (keep ourselves from) a lot of problems. We never want to be on the side of judging God’s servants no matter who they are because ultimately God will judge His Own servants Himself in a fair and just fashion (manner) that only He can do because He Is Omniscient (all-knowing). Remember even Jesus Himself as God submitted to God the Father to accomplish God’s Will in Heaven and Earth knowing that God, our Heavenly Father is a just judge and a seeker of divine justice because God Is Thee God of Truth. God is what is Right (for He Is Righteous), therefore God will always do what is right, even when men do wrong. There is no escaping God’s all seeing eyes so take refuge and comfort in the fact that God is not mocked, what so ever a man sows that shall he also reap whether good or bad in line with Galatians 6:7,8. Notice 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 KJV speaks about Jesus submission to God, Our Father in humbleness and carefreeness and complete obedience.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Now from a theological point of view all authority that is for the people is God ordained, God breathed so-to-speak. God’s system is just but sometimes (not all the time) the people in that system are unjust. God’s Word is very good about expressing God’s Perfect Will but what about those rulers (leaders) who are perverse in their thinking and in their actions. God states in Matthew 5:43-45 KJV that we should love them too, which includes praying for them.
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Look at this principle in the proper context by noticing we (ihlcc) did not say that the police or any governing authority is our enemy. What is being shown in this scripture is that if you (or anyone else) thought the police officer who killed one of your loved ones was an enemy you (or that other disheartened person) ought to love them anyway and yes pray for the well-being and salvation because maybe, just maybe, God can touch their heart at a tender moment to have them repent and become a good born-again Believer just like you and more importantly just like God. This would help the whole earthly community and the Kingdom of God. Remember God touched the Apostle Paul’s heart to change him from a destroyer of lives to a saver of souls.
1 Timothy 1:12-14 KJV
12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
Notice that it was not God’s Will to destroy Saul the persecutor even though he harmed innocent people, but rather God saved him to make an Apostle of Jesus Christ that loves people and desires to save all who are lost (in darkness). Jesus demonstrated this God-Kind of Love (agape-unconditional pure 100% love with no selfishness mingled inside of Him) when He showed his love for the exact same people who crucified Him.
Luke 23:32-34 KJV
32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.
33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Only the love and mercy of God can behave this way. We (ihlcc) did not say it would be easy but it is godly and doable if you seek God’s Grace in times of pain and injustice. This principle alone could stop a movement against other people and change it to altar of prayer that depends on God. We notice this same type of behavior with Stephen, a leader in the church, who was stoned as a result of injustice in Acts 7:55-60 KJV
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.
59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Clearly there has been an injustice here by the governing authorities of his day. Publically killed for speaking what is right. Remember they came and got Stephen, he was not marching in their streets. Yet, in spite of their obvious wrong doing Stephen still prayed for God to forgive them of this sin they were currently and publically committing. Please notice dear child of God the people who were causing the problem had no earthly idea they were flat wrong and in danger of God’s Judgment because they are fighting against God’s Will. Yes, we (ihlcc) will say that again, many people, we say many people fight against God’s Will every day without remorse or any consideration that they will be accountable to God in this life and in the next life to come. Amen! God’s divine judgment may not come quickly but it always comes because God is faithful and He is a Just God. Now that we know there are some evil people in the world who follow not God’s Perfect Will we must also know that God still expects the Christian (and all people) to submit to the authorities of the land as long as they (the rulers, authority figures) are not asking you to sin. The general rule of thumb is God’s Divine authority of ethics and morals supersedes man’s authority to ask other men to sin. God’s System (His Kindgom) is designed such that you should be able to always obey God with a clear conscience and submit to man without contradiction or controversy or sin. Amen! Therefore purpose in heart to respect the offices and officers of authority simply because it is God’s Will that we all do so. We notice in 1 Peter 2:17-23 KJV that God is very big on honoring the offices of authority and submitting unto those in authority over you. Yes, this would include submitting to policemen and policewomen as citizens of the land.
17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
First we see that we are to Honor the King, which is just like saying honor the President of the United States of America. We must mention how very disappointed we (ihlcc) are for the constant disrespect we hear from Christians mentioning the President in a derogatory manner. We were raised with a statement, “If you don’t have anything good to say about another person don’t say anything.” Yes, that statement is right in-line with God’s Word which states in Proverbs 21:23, “Whosoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from trouble.” As believers we ought to have enough sense to hold our tongue in the off position in respect to God for Christ sake because Jesus for sure didn’t make a practice of bad mouthing the King in His day, so we shouldn’t speak evil of our leaders either. Amen! Please be quiet if you don’t agree with certain leaders because that is walking in wisdom. Sure, we don’t agreed with everything our President, congressman, state governor or even our local mayor speaks but we love them anyway and pray for their salvation and well-being because we have no desire to be their judge when all they really need is The Savoir, Jesus Christ. Some even go so far as to state all people in a certain political party are ungodly and unrighteous. Those people who make such comments are judging people and insinuate that all those people of a different political party are going to hell. Now, brothers and sisters if that isn’t the face of self-righteousness I don’t know what is. Dear, faith friend only God knows the hearts of all men, so no one else on this earth has a Heaven or hell to put people in so why do men boast of being better than another? Just plain old filthy pride, the source of pride is the devil so these ungodly boasters are following Satan’s lies to divide and destroy this nation and they don’t even realize it. We (ihlcc) pray God have mercy on their soul because they are in danger of going to hell, the place of eternal judgment prepared for the devil and his army and for men who judged others and refused to judge themselves. Amen! This verse 17 of 1 Peter chapter 2 speaks of Honoring not just the President or King but rather all men, women and children. We also see we should love the brotherhood which could be two things: First, love the family of God and secondly, we should love the family of humanity because it is right and pleasing in God’s sight. Those two people groups should cover every soul upon the face of this earth because you are either alive in Christ Jesus or you are dead outside of God. Yes, some could say, “What about the Jews?” but they are also included with either side because when Jesus came to the earth He brought “Thee Only Way” to God while on this earth and my dear faith friend He (Jesus) still “Thee Only Way” to get into Heaven. The Blood of Jesus prerequisite never changes for either, Jew or Gentile for we are saved by the Blood of Jesus or we are simply not saved. As citizens (servants) verse 18 clearly states we should be subject (submitted) to the good and gentle leaders and also the bad and mean rulers. We don’t have the luxury of only being subject to the good police but we must subject ourselves to uncompassionate policemen or state officials too for Christ sake, in our words and deeds to bring God on the scene. Verse 19 declares that suffering wrongfully is common for the Christian so don’t be surprised that you might be treated unfairly, just rejoice in the fact that you belong to God so ultimately He (The Father and Lord Jesus) will be your salvation and redemption from all evil in this world. We cannot improve on the statement of verse 20 which commands, “when you do well (right) and suffer for it, you should take the suffering patiently because that is acceptable (pleasing) with God.” Thus, endure the shame and disrespect of certain men knowing you have a Great and Gentle God in Heaven who loves you and thinks very highly of you, for you are a child of Thee King of kings and Thee Lord of lords. Amen! Verses 21 through 23 basically state that Jesus has done all things well that He is asking of us. When it comes to suffering; Who suffered more than Jesus? What about being shamefully treated; Who hung naked on a cross baring (and being) the sin of the world? No one except Jesus! What about death by being killed unjustly; Jesus was killed by soldiers (public servants) unjustly, therefore Jesus (as our Supreme Leader) has been there and done that too. Not that all the Roman soldiers were bad but the few bad ones brought shame to the whole bunch. The truth whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap always holds true. Therefore, shaming others will ultimately have a negative effect on the offender (wrong doer) because when you shame people unjustly shame will come back to you in a larger measure. This is why we stated that we are against protesting because God’s Divine Justice will prevail whether you realize it or not. The Lord is Gracious and He is Thee Faithful and Righteous Judge of all Flesh. The Lord will render good unto the good and also He will punish the unrighteous in due season (which might not be the next day). In the case of Jesus one could call that Soldier brutality and they would be correct so let us discuss the topic a little to see what the Holy Bible states about extra violence shown towards a public person (either a citizen or innocent non-citizen) by a public servant like a policeman or Roman soldier or any public servant who is supposed to uphold the laws of the land. In the Gospel of Luke 3:14 KJV we see John the Baptist speaking to the soldiers about doing God's Will.
And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
Remember back in the days of Jesus a Roman Soldier was considered the arm of the law. This meant their word could cause someone to be not punished at all, bear some punishment or even execution if they deemed it proper. The Lord Jesus Himself recognized that the Roman Soldiers were sometimes too harsh toward the people they were supposed to protect. The Soldiers of Jesus day are a type of Policemen of today. Yes, some could argue that the Roman Soldier better represents a military man of today and we could say OK. However, military men of America don’t typically uphold justice in every city, town, neighborhood or state in America. Our military only helps out if the local authorities need the additional support, like in situations of natural disasters or unlawfulness where things are getting out of control. However, in the time of Jesus the Roman Soldier received wages for keeping law and order in the local community and that is very similar to our local police force and/or Sheriff’s department. We will look at two examples in the New Testament where excessive force (unnecessary brutality) was used when it was no sudden danger involved. Let us start with Jesus Christ according to Matthew 27:22-31 KJV
22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.
23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.
25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
First let us note that all this was pre-crucifixion and the soldiers were soldiers of the governor. The governor himself said this is a just person in verse 24, so we cannot use the excuse that Jesus deserved whatever He got. Notice, in verse 26 Jesus was scourged before He was delivered to be crucified. This scourging was a whipping with a Roman Flagrum. A flagrum is basically a short whip of a few leather thongs that is designed to inflect severe pain. The thongs of the whip were knotted with sharp metal (even fishing hooks in some cases) to make deep cuts (lacerations) across the back of the condemned one. The Jews had a limit of thirty-nine but the Romans didn’t have such a law. This scourging typically left the victim half-dead. It is reported that sometimes the Centurion in charge would just allow the whipping to continue until the victim was about to die then he would order halt so that the suffering of the cross was fully realized. We (ihlcc) believe that since Jesus Christ was so physically and mentally strong he probably took more stripes than just thirty-nine strips but God did not see fit to mention the exact number in the Word God because the Lord could not be killed by scourging or crucifixion. According to verse 27 there was a whole band of soldiers even though Jesus posed no harmful threat. We also notice the group stripped him and placed on this head a crown of thorns. The group also mocked him and spit upon him and took the reed and hit (smote) him on head. After all this then he was led away for crucifixion. The point of going into this much gruesome detail is that this was a good man in the hands of violent soldiers which means this could be done at any time without any consequences. Thus, John the Baptist before Jesus was crucified told the Roman Soldiers do no violence to any man. Apparently many Roman soldiers didn’t take John’s instructions to do no violence to heart. The point being if you are sentenced to imprisonment or death doing the extra violence is unnecessary. Of course we will take a moment to mention that not all Romans Soldiers were bad but we would not be honest if we concluded that no bad (violent) Roman Soldiers ever existed. We think of Cornelius, a Roman centurion who was a devout (devoted) man that respected God gave money to the Jews temple (the Lord’s church) and prayed to God always. This same Roman centurion was favored by God such that the Lord personally sent the Apostle Peter to his house to get him saved. – Refer to Acts chapter 10 Just like there were good and holy soldiers of Roman back then there are also good, righteous and holy policemen (and police women) in the United States of American right now. Whether it is a small town deputy or a large city detective many public protectors are good men and women. Also according Luke 23:47 KJV the following words were recorded, “Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.” This centurion at the crucifixion of Christ was able to discern between good and bad which means he was able to recognize God to some extent. This statement of truth gives more evidence that some policemen (soldiers) are actually hearing from God and making the right decisions in a time of crisis. Therefore it is very foolish to think that some bad apples always will spoil the whole bunch. We are not talking about fruit here but rather people who serve the public and God. So we (ihlcc) can boldly say that all policemen aren’t perfect but likewise neither is every Christian prefect either. There is One who walked this earth in perfection by living without sin and we all know the results (rewards) He received while upon this earth or we could say the world’s system that used harsh judgment that ended up causing the death of an innocent man. Jesus knows what it is like to be condemned for doing right so no person can boast of receiving a bad rap (reputation) that no one else would understand. All good soldiers/policemen make a pledge to protect the public from evil so why do we read, see or hear about soldier brutality in a community? It is primarily because the fall of mankind produced sin in the world both evilness and wrong doing are both by-products of that great fall from God. We read another example of this in Acts 23:1-5 KJV
1 And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.
2 And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.
3 Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?
5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.
In this example involving the Apostle Paul it was a commanding official (the high priest a religious leader) that sent an order to the soldier. Yes, the upper management arm of the law is probably in some circumstances commanding the policemen to be very firm and intolerant of any intent to disobey an order (command given by a policemen). Since our (ihlcc) brother was a policeman we (ihlcc) know that the policeman must establish order at the beginning of the encounter and if they don’t even larger problems could arise. This is one reason why we (ihlcc) are spiritually inclined to have mercy on the policemen here in America and all over the world. Primarily because we (ihlcc) know it is a very tough job that receives little gratitude for a good day’s work with a lessor salary than services rendered. Remember Jesus said in Luke 3:14 for soldiers (policemen) to “Be content with your wages” so the earnings of policemen (soldiers) was a problem back then (even 2000 years ago). The point is if you put a person in a violent job, with mediocre wages and very little appreciation it is an equation for potential problems but thanks to the men and women in black and blue who make it work every day. We salute you and thank-you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. In the example of soldier brutality concerning the Apostle Paul we notice that Paul did nothing wrong, nor did Paul speak out of line concerning his position with God nor did Paul speak against those in authority at that time. However, just because the high priest was evil he commanded evilness unto Paul. Thus, Paul was hit to shut to shut his mouth instead of just telling Paul to be quiet. Yes, when over-reacting it is quite common to use aggressive actions for what simple words could do. That is exactly what police brutality looks like today because it is looked the same thousands of years earlier. Notice that the Apostle Paul knew the law according to verse 3 and became angry because the law was not being followed. However, in spite of being publically hit in the face the Apostle Paul calmed himself down and showed respect to the man in authority even though the one in authority was not acting good (right), like he was supposed to. The Apostle Paul make a godly (God Likeness) decision to stop fighting against authority with his words and go with the Word of God in humbleness and mildness. Let the words quoted by Paul sink deep down into your heart (your spirit) because they are true. God’s Word said, “Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.” This is a statement of truth that should be adopted for all Christians concerning good leaders and bad ones too because ultimately (spiritually) our Leader is God. Since God said this truth to us (all Believers) we must do it right now and for all eternity. Amen! Many people choose to fight against authority by demanding that the president or the governor of the state or the local major or the local police chief take immediate action to condemn the guilty party. This may happen but in most cases it will not produce an immediate action until a full investigation is conducted which might be pure but quite often it is partial. However in that span of time between the initial action and the sentence of judgment protest may happen and in some negative cases even rioting takes place. Therefore we are counseling people who read this article not to put your trust in men, nor should you look for those in authority to fix all wrongs. No, dear child of God, you have Thee Answer Man inside of you in the Person of Jesus Christ. Simply behold His Word and you will clearly see the Love of God is the correct answer and you know what, “That holy answer should be good enough for you”, as a Child of God and a citizen of the United States of America. Besides all those who put their trust in the leaders of the land (who are but flesh and blood, mere men) what happiness did the men they trusted in bring them. It is not in men to solve all man’s problem because we (all men, women and children) need God and there is no substitute for God’s righteousness and divine judgment.
Psalms 118:8-9 KJV
8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.
And Jeremiah 17:5-7 KJV
5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
For God is God all by Himself and no one can bring you peace, satisfaction and good understanding in compassion but your Holy Father God and His Precious Son, Jesus Christ. Remember we are to pray for those in authority over us, we are not to persecute them or place our desires upon them as a burden but rather “Cast our burden’s upon the Lord for only He can sustain them (our burdens and the sins of the whole world)”. Are we saying that police brutality is right? Of course not, but does every policeman practice police brutality we also say “of course not. Therefore, we (ihlcc) choose to have mercy upon the American Police men and Police women because we know God has been (and still is being) very merciful to us. Amen!
Part of the problem with protesting is it tries to make everyone involved share (to stand with) one common voice. However we all know that everyone in the protest does not have the same heart. For instant, there could be both unbelievers and believers engaged in a protest at the same time. Therefore one would get one perspective from a spirit filled born-again believer who emphasizes love, mercy, justice and forgiveness but during the same protest interview a person full of bitterness, hated and judgment would be given just as much air time for media (video) coverage. One would speak on peaceable resolutions while the other would speak on vengeance, punishment and judgment. So in the same protest it would inherently have division within it because two different hearts will always have two different voices. Those speaking of division and hatred usually dominate the media. This is because we live in the perverse world’s system so the ratings feed on division and trouble. Remember St. John 10:10 KJV “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” The thief in this passage of scripture is referring to the devil and the “I AM” is referring to Jesus Christ. We can see a vast difference between the purpose of our Precious Good God and the motives of the evil one. Yes, Jesus came to give us life more abundantly so God is always against the shedding of innocent blood. Yes, God is even against unnecessary bloodshed, so it is never the will of our Good, Wholesome, Righteous God that one should perish unnecessarily but as we stated earlier God will endorse the harsh judgment of death on an evil person who is threatening the lives of others. We must understand that each and every one of these situations are different and they must be judged independently because in some cases the police office (as a servant of God) is justified in his/her actions but in other cases where it is clear that no public person’s life was being threatened (including the police officer’s) than the use of excessive force that ends in death (the shedding of innocent blood) will always be judged by God, not necessary by men. Please dear saint, don’t ever think what you see on TV is the end of it because killing an innocent person is a horrible sin but justifying yourself (your motive) and accusing the victim of being worthy of death (due to their actions) is impossible to live with in their conscience, except the Blood of Jesus washes them clean from the guilt of the sin of murder. We (ihlcc) will say it this way I would rather a guilty police officer repent and come to Jesus and make Heaven then someone try to cover their sin and go to hell. Hell is very real people and we (ihlcc) don’t desire for anyone to go there. People often cry out for immediate justice but that is just temporal we are more afraid of eternal judgment because that is way more punishing and painful.
Matthew 10:28 KJV
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
The devil knows all too well that if he can have flesh (man) fighting flesh (man) we would be divided as a people. If we are divided, as America is right now, we shall fall through the tricks and deceits of the devil.
Ephesians 6:10-15 KJV
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Notice three truths from the scriptures above.
- We have to stand against the wiles (deceits, craftiness, trickery) of the devil
- We wrestle (fight, withstand, argue) not against flesh and blood (men and women) but against the kingdom of darkness
- You ought to be marching (your feet) forward with the gospel of peace (yes, the message of God’s Love for all mankind regardless of your current or past sins)
This is our message as born-again children of God so let us be clear, instead of preaching social injustice we must focus on preaching peace through Jesus Christ because that alone is doing God’s Will on this earth. Yes, we should be preaching peace in good times and in controversial times also. Our mission shouldn’t change with the circumstances but the message of God’s Love remains constant and complete. This is why we can boldly say, of course “Black Lives Matter” and God will bring divine justice in time (in due season). The world’s system may not be fair but we do believe that God is Faithful and Just in all His Ways. Yes, “White Lives Matter” too, of course, such that any innocent white person killed by authorities is precious in God’s Sight also. Inclusively “All Lives Matter” because God purchased every one of them through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ. Therefore we ought to know these fundamental truths because they bring the Spirit of The Lord on the scene and where the Spirit of The Lord is there is Liberty.
2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Notice that this verse said “liberty” not justice because how can one expect 100% justice any time before we get to God’s Heaven. God is telling us that there is liberty where the Spirit of the Lord dwells but we must be willing to bring God on the scene. We (ihlcc) do see the Spirit of God on certain family members of certain victims forgiving the police officer for a costly error in judgment. Yes, we do see the Spirit of Lord in manifestation upon certain police representatives who show remorse for the death of a precious living soul. We know even during some protest that the Spirit of Peace and Calm does prevail. However, the manifestation of God’s Presence, the Spirit of The Lord, can only manifest as strong as the people give Him place. We (ihlcc) do believe in community prayer meetings, church prayer meetings and/or Godly teaching and preaching to bring God on the scene to help those that are hurting. Yes, some could say that protesting is part of America’s history and some protest inspired real positive change. We will say this about that, don’t be deceived dear saint of God nothing good has ever happened in America without God’s help. Yes, when true positive change has ever come in America the Lord worked His Will with man. Good for America (and any nation) did not happen just because man had a great idea and God observed from the sideline. No, times of positive change from forming this nation to liberating the poor slaves came from men yielding to God to finally do what was right. This land is still in God’s Eyes therefore we are always in His thoughts. Amen! See just a little praising of the goodness of God is changing the atmosphere into something positive right here right now. This is not by accident but rather by purpose of God’s design. Behold Philippians 4:8 KJV
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
We read in the prior verse that we are supposed to think on good things, not just anything but good things. Some bible teachers take (interpret) this verse to literally mean that you should think on the things that meet all the requirements not just one. So we are to think on true things and those true things must be honest and just (have justice or be right) and be pure (uncorrupted) and be lovely (lovefilled) and have a good report (a good record or testimony) and it must have virtue (excellence) and even contain praise (inspire thanksgiving and worship to God). Well to have all these characteristics one can only think of the goodness of God and the awesome holiness of God’s Word. So we can conclude that we should not constantly think on the injustices that are going on in this world. Yes, we do know that the shedding of blood is very sorrowful and for that reason Satan would love for us to dwell on destruction and death. Depression is a form of worship to the devil, fear is a known force of evil, so every time we magnify his evil deeds of destruction and death we propagate fear and encourage him to continue. Those that are obsessed with these wicked murders and any obvious injustices are falling into his trap to be discouraged and dishearten with certain people causing more division and hate. We are not ignorant of Satan’s devices, so we will rise up to do God’s Word to think more on God’s Divine Justice and Mercy than the devil’s agenda of dividing and conquering the land by destroying all men. We know some will say, “Are you saying we should just ignore the injustice?” The answer, is “No!” What we are saying is that you need to employ God’s Word in the Spirit of God’s Love to use your faith in God to right all wrongs. As we firmly believe eternity will right all wrongs because God is Just and He knows what He is doing. Yes, some people want judgment and correction immediately but they don’t realize that if God judged everything immediately we all would be citizens of hell. Remember it took Jesus, our Great Savoir and Lord, thousands of years to come to the earth to fulfill God’s Plan of Salvation because the Gracious Lord is longsuffering. Remember one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day according to 2 Peter 3:8. So we must be patience and praise God even when it looks bad (hopeless) in the natural. Believe us (ihlcc) dear child of God for we are writing to you, no one escapes God’s divine judgment unless they repent of their sins. Therefore know it is never a question of if justice will be served (prevail) but rather when justice shall be served (executed). We pray all people would escape God’s Judgment through forgiveness by the shed Blood of Jesus Christ. It is God’s Will that Jesus bore their sin (the sins of the sinner) instead of the person themselves. It is but the grace of God and His Tender mercies that we are all still here alive today as opposed to being residents in Hell. Remember, James 2:12-13 Good News Bible
12 Speak and act as people who will be judged by the law that sets us free.
13 For God will not show mercy when he judges the person who has not been merciful; but mercy triumphs over judgment.
We must meditate on 2 Corinthians 5:17 because this verse reminds us that we are new creatures in Christ Jesus.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Since we are new creatures we should act like a representative of Christ. Yes, a true Christian will act godly, not like those of the world who lash out at all those who think (or believe) differently. Let’s look at the following verses in 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 KJV to notice some definite differences between us (as Children of God) and those of the world system.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Notice three things in the previous verses:
- God has already given us the ministry of reconciliation (getting men back to God)
- God is not imputing (adding to our credit, passing unto) people’s personal sins and trespasses
- Today you are ambassadors (heavenly representatives) for Christ (You are supposed to working for Jesus and The Father God, not your own personal opinions.)
This supports the thought that all believers ought to evangelize the world. We should first try to introduce people to Jesus then The Lord Himself can start working with them on what they should do next. We will never be able to change people who want to remain the same. Many couples will agree if your plan for the future is to change your spouse after your marriage you will probably end up in divorce. Man has a will and God won’t force you to do something you really don’t want to do. Since we are made in the very image and likeness of God we should never try to force people to do things they don’t want to do. We say this because man is inherently evil so there will always be people who refuse to do good because they always think the other person is evil. The truth is all men are evil and it takes the Heart of God to make us good people. Thus, those who are without Christ are prone to do evil in thought, in words and in deed.
Matthew 7:16-18 KJV
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
If all men were good we would not need the saving Blood of Jesus Christ, if even some people were good and others evil God would have never said in Romans 3:10-11 KJV quoting an Old Testament scripture, “10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.” Of course this verse is referencing man in general but the truth is all people who lived after the death of Jesus Christ and are living a life without the Blood of Jesus are considered in God’s Eyes as unrighteous. This is the reason God needs ambassadors to carry the message of forgiveness from God to receive the righteousness of Christ in the powerful Name of Jesus. The message of God’s New Testament word is for all who have ears to hear, the white, Asian and black, the young and the elder, the highly education and the unintelligent. Yes all those who call upon the Name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved according to Romans 10:13. The great news about becoming free in Christ Jesus is you truly become free from the bondage of man. If God is truly your everything there is nothing left for man to take and the devil has nothing to kill, steal and destroy in your life because your life is hidden in Christ. Remember, Light shallows up darkness so be the light of your community by shining the light of love instead of division and strife.
Mark 3:23-25 KJV
23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
The point being that if the protestors themselves are divided on this issue of what man should do next (repent and be forgiven in mercy or be proclaimed guilty and be prosecuted) how could the protestors expect all the listeners to be in unity. Typically, the people who believe in the purpose or principles of the protestors might even join the protestors but they (the agreeing listeners) are not the problem. Generally, speaking it is those who oppose the protestors that keep things going in the same direction of strife, injustice and ungodliness. So who is right? Probably neither because they are just men and women and young adults but we know with all certainty that God is right all the time and He (The Lord) shall ever be right throughout eternity.
According to 1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV God is not the author of confusion but of peace.
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
The Lord’s will according to the previous verse is peace, He (Our Lord God) didn’t say justice. God knows justice will come in due season because the righteous shall be blessed abundantly by God both now and in the future. Remember making Heaven alone guaranties that the righteous shall be rewarded for living right while upon the earth and all those who are unrighteous will reap the penalty of hell and an unsatisfying life down here on earth. It saddens our (ihlcc) heart to think that all those people who go to hell that living this life on earth with men is the closest thing to God’s Heaven they will ever know. This is why it is so easy for us to have mercy because an eternity without God’s Love is punishment enough without adding the torments of hell. It is for this reason that we must pray for those in authority because sometimes people in authority command certain people to behave the way they do and this causes much pain and suffering in the earth. We are reminded of certain nations governed by strict military forces that dictatorial leaders command genocide to innocent lives of thousands. This is not God’s Will this is the will of the evil one and we do firmly believe just like God has ambassadors who speak His Word and do (practice) His good deeds there are also evil men and women in the earth that carry out the will of the devil to kill, steal and destroy. God is good all the time but in this earth during this dispensation He (The Lord) needs man’s help to carry out His Will in the earth. Yes, the leaders of the land and the people who rule nations are crucial to the citizens because they will influence our lifestyle in one way or another both positively and negatively. However, God has laid out a good and righteous plan but oh, how we hope and pray men and women will do it. Behold 1 Timothy 2:1-6 KJV
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Notice three things in the above verses:
- Prayer should be made for all people (men, women and young adults)
- Prayer should be made for all leaders for they are authority figures
- These individuals can influence our ability to worship God freely and they do influence just how open our nation is to God
Right along that same line of thought verse 2 states if you want to live (lead) a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty you must pray. First notice that we are to lead quietly this specifically means no boasting or pushing our way. Thus, choose prayer over protesting and choose peace over pushing. The same passage of scripture encourages us to seek a peaceable life which is a peace-filled life in which you sow outward peace to others to reap inner personal peace from God. Living in all (not some but all) godliness is consistent with this whole write-up we must be willing to be different to make a significant difference in our world first, then expanding to the world of others around us as God sees fit. We don’t promote ourselves or our agenda we choose to promote God. If you are not speaking and doing God’s Word publically you are practicing a hidden agenda privately (inwardly)! Living in honesty basically means you are an honest person and everyone around you knows that you are a good decent person. Yes, being honest is not always popular but it is the proper position to be in with God. Honesty is always a character issue so if your character is consistence with God’s heart honesty will not be a day-to-day decision but rather an eternal lifestyle that keeps your conscience clear and your words correct and actions concrete (solid). Amen! If you do these things on a consistent basis you are blessed and shall forever be blessed by God because you very closely resemble the King of kings and Lord of lords. Remember, we are blessed by our association to God, no one else. Therefore we must display our association by acting like He does in Jesus Name. This is the will of God being executed (carried-out) in Heaven and we are praying this will (His Will, God’s Will) be done in this earth.
Luke 11:1-4 KJV
1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
Notice four things in these verses:
- True disciples of the Lord Jesus will pray
- True disciples of the Lord want God’s Will in Heaven to be done here on earth
- True disciples of the Lord forgive others because they themselves have asked God for forgiveness of their own sins and the merciful God has done it simply because He loves us so much
- We should expect God to deliver us from evil men after we pray for God’s protection according to verse 4. Hebrews 11:6b states that those who come to God must believe that He Is and He Is a Rewarder (a Deliverer) of them that diligently seek Him. In essence those who expect (believe in) God to protect them get the divine protection they need because they call upon the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ during a dangerous situation to allow God access into that situation shall be delivered. Our God is not far off or inaccessible He Is within us, if His Word and His Name is on your tongue and released into the atmosphere by your words His Power of Deliverance can be manifested right then in the midst of a bad situation. However you must do your part to claim divine protection in the Name of Jesus first for God to do His part of delivering you in your time of need. Amen and So be it in Jesus Name! Note: Stay sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and follow His instructions to see the maximum benefits of God’s Deliverance upon this earth during a time of trouble and fear. Just remember safety is of the Lord so use His Grace and Guidance to deliver your spirit, soul and physical body from all evilness, wickedness, unrighteousness and harm in Jesus Christ your Savior. Amen!
This powerful concept of mercy gives us a glimpse of God’s Heart and we must embrace this goodness of God because we need it (mankind in general) more than the animal and plant kingdoms of the earth. God made us in His Image and Likeness according to Genesis 1:26 so we have more responsibility and honor but along with that we are more prone to error. The devil knowing this is very clever to deceive men and women to cause much sin in this world. Therefore mercy is God’s free gift to man to help men recover from the snares and traps of the devil. Mercy is God rescue key to unlock the doors of our personal prison cell in darkness. Remember mercy triumphs over judgment so realize God would rather show mercy to the repentant heart than to have to uphold judgment to the unrepentant soul. Likewise, we should delight to show mercy to fallen soldiers (servicemen and policemen) just as much as we would cry for those souls who are trapped in hell. It is said by ihlcc, “That a life sown in mercy unto your fellow man upon the earth will always bring a harvest of souls to enter into Heaven.”
Micah 6:8 KJV
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Please notice that doing justly and loving mercy takes humility with God (or we could say the humility of God). Yes, we (ihlcc) believe the humble heart wants to please God so they do justly and they delight to show mercy to the undeserving soul. This according to brother Micah is God’s Will spoken through him under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. Our ultimate goal is to have the will of God’s Heaven portrayed upon this earth. This can only be done through the knowledge of God’s Word and the prayers of the saints. So let us examine a few scriptures that highlight God’s Will for His people and His Will for the whole earth.
No complaining because complaining is sin, for it is against God’s Word
First, all believers (saints, children of God, disciples of Jesus) need to understand that we should not complain because no complaining proceeds happiness for each person.-Truth This individual happiness brings happiness to the company of believers because they encourage one another, not so much the whole community but rather those people who live in the family of God and if others in the community would like to join our family to enjoy such peace and happiness we are fully prepared to lead them (love them) in. Amen!
Psalms 144:12-15 KJV
12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
13 That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
14 That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
In the Old Testament God instructed His Servants in verse 14 to tell all His people not to complain in the streets. This sounds exactly like no protesting whether good or bad. God wanted the young children to grow up strong and looking good according to verse 12. The Good Lord showed us that He wants prosperity for every family because as our Provider His desire was for us to be well taken-care of according to verse 13. In verse 14a it is mentioned that God wants your lifestock (your assets) to be strong to labor (profitable and in good shape to produce). Verse 15 sums up the results of being blessed by God, for Happy is that people, yes, happy is that people whose God is the Lord Jesus.
Next we see this is not only true for the Old Testament servants but also for the New Testament saints.
1 Corinthians 10:10-13 International Standard Version
10 You must stop complaining, as some of them were doing, and were annihilated by the destroyer.
11 These things happened to them to serve as an example, and they were written down as a warning for us in whom the culmination of the ages has been attained.
12 Therefore, whoever thinks he is standing securely should watch out so he doesn't fall.
13 No temptation has overtaken you that is unusual for human beings. But God is faithful, and he will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength. Instead, along with the temptation he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to endure it.
The Apostle Paul warns all his church family members (and all believers) not to complain. Why? Because complaining opens up the door of your life to the destroyer and the destroyer will take advantage of the open door to steal, kill and destroy in your life. For example, we (ihlcc) knew a guy who often complained about the police. He thought inwardly that many policemen were corrupt (bad people) and the whole governing system was corrupt too. We will note he did not think all policemen were bad but a good handful were bad for sure. This complaint of his heart caused him much trouble because one day (we believe) Satan set a trap for him and he did not see it coming. We will explain by stating sometimes you have a hunch (a witness, an inward knowing) that has no rational facts to support it because it might be just an unction not to do something. We have been there several times and we mostly don’t do it and praise God for His Goodness not knowing the exact reason for the uneasiness (check) in our heart. There have been a few times it was revealed later that if we would have stuck with our initial plans we would have encountered severe problems in the process. This believer we previously mentioned had an unction not to leave his house that evening but a friend talked him into going out for the night. That very night they were pulled over by the police and it was mentioned that when he made a statement that was different than what the police wanted to hear he was struck by that police officer and handed several problems (negative reports, tickets) from that police officer which negatively impacted his life for years. We (ihlcc) were taught from a young age just do what the police ask you to do because they could create many problems for you if you do not. This, our beloved faith friends, was a word of wisdom from our elders. When we (ihlcc) grew older we were taught to always be respectful to the preacher and the police because both were there to help you and God favors those two positions as servants of God. The point we are making is you should not be motivated by fear when a policeman (or policewoman) comes on the scene because what a man fears may come upon him.
Job 3:25 KJV
For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
I have seen this truth play-out in real life so don’t take this truth (principle) too lightly. We can remember in one incident for “Black lives matter” a pregnant woman kept telling the police man, “Not to put me on the ground because I am pregnant”. She was so scared that she started losing her composer, we (ihlcc) could see this fear controlling her very thoughts and actions. It was as if she could not hear the policeman because fear gripped her mightily, next thing you know he (the policeman) started getting nervous too and acting unreasonable, he started acting fearful too. No one in this confrontation needed to fear because at first no threat was present but through fear both parties started believing the worst about the other person then both felt threatened even though they didn’t need to. Yes, you guessed it he takes her to the ground when she did nothing wrong. Totally, unacceptable behavior by a policeman who is ordained to bring peace and order, not terror, fear and kiosk. Remember fear has torment and he who fears not is made perfect in love according 1 John 4:18. Do we think spiritual forces are at play in many of these incidents? Oh yes, and absolutely yes. This is the reason we encourage all children of God to remain calm and try to comply with the policeman or police woman as much as you can because remaining peaceful, calm and compliant just might help the policeman (or police woman) to remain calm and courteous. As believers in God’s Divine protection we are commissioned to control situations by being strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might otherwise situations will control us for the worst. Will this stop all injustice by ungodly policemen absolutely not but it gives you a strategy to go by when confronted with a policeman. Typically, if I (ihlcc) am ever pulled over by a policemen (or policewomen) I immediately start quietly saying, “Lord Jesus give me favor with this policemen and may everything be done decently and in order.” That our faith friend could possibly be the best advice and information we give you in this article. The two reference scriptures that give you a spiritually legal right to ask God for such things is found in Psalms 5:11-12 KJV
11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12 For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
And 1 Corinthians 14:40 KJV
Let all things be done decently and in order.
We pray the believer is strong enough to not be afraid of those in authority over us. Why? Simply because there is no fear in love and perfect love casts out (removes, dispels) fear because fear has torment. Again he who fears is not made perfect in love according to 1 John 4:18. We also know that when people are fearful they easily become irrational which can lead to further complications when dealing with a stressful situation. The solution to making sound decisions is Christ Jesus and believing His promise found in 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Dear believer God is our refuge, yes, God is our hope and what good is God’s Great Power if we fail to use it by failing to use Him! So many people are relying on the arm of flesh by expecting man to do right. That is like not expecting the serpent to bite if you ignore his presence. No one should be that foolish but many people just don’t realize just how far we (as a nation) have drifted away from doing all things God’s Way (in accordance to His Word). This means being merciful in heart and deed to all mankind because if you don’t have a heart to love policemen and policewomen there is something wrong with your heart and something evil within your heart. Jesus loves all and so should we, knowing that we are the merciful children of God living in an unmerciful world. We should not complain both outwardly or inwardly because whatever you have in your heart will surely find its way to your mouth and be reflected in your actions. We should start looking inwardly to God at the first indication that a policeman or policewoman is looking to engage us with a conversation. If we let love lead God will most definite show up and He will direct our paths. Be sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit because sometimes He will direct you away from an upcoming bad situation. We have spoken a little about avoiding a negative confrontation with the police and that is always a good idea. However, now we will look at what Jesus did (as our earthly example) when a social injustice personally confronted Him when He walked the land as a man, yes even a fellow citizen. Behold Mark 6:17-34 KJV
17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.
18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
28 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.
29 And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
30 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
Notice first that there is (no doubt about it) social injustice in this incident. A righteous man placed in prison because he stood against the king of the land by openly (publically) stating it is wrong to break up an existing family. Then to be executed when the person who ordered the hit (execution) knew you (John the Baptist in this case) were righteous (innocent). So don’t ever think the Holy Bible (God’s Word) doesn’t address injustice in the world. Notice secondly that this was carried out by a single person in authority and the executioner was just doing his job. No doubt the Lord knows exactly who is the guilty party in this case. Notice thirdly that Jesus didn’t go towards King Herod in protest but rather moved away unto a more private place. Side Note: When you are hurting on the inside because something went wrong the best place to be is isolated with God. Notice fourthly that Jesus stayed on track by keeping His compassion toward people which motivated Him to teach people God’s Truths. Our point is that it is always better to share God’s Ways with people who are open to hear from God rather than to publically sow strife and division with people who believe in immediate judgment. Remember dear saint of God The Lord Jesus thinks differently than all those in the world’s system because those of the world think evil all the time. Remember Amos 3:3 KJV
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
No faith friend you cannot walk in unity with those of a different heart. Some may think they are converting some people to their way of thinking by partaking of public rallies but unless people are converted they will never think like God thinks. Yes, many people seek justice in this ungodly world without realizing divine justice is inevitable but we must use faith to believe this and possess the patience to see it through (experience it in earth and in Heaven). Remember the fact that “Black Lives Matter” is true, just like “White Lives Matter” is true too because “All Lives Matter” before God is not a good (justified) reason to publically protest God’s ordained offices of authority. God’s ordained offices of authority were created to establish peace and order in the earth. However, sometimes those people in authority make critical mistakes resulting in death and/or some of our leaders are evil corrupt people causing much harm and hatred to many people within their sphere of influence. Certainly we have heard the phrase, “two wrongs don’t equal a right” but we do have a hope and refuge in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior and Protector. We (ihlcc) just hope that God’s People would choose prayer over protest and seek God’s private inspiration as opposed to public demonstrations. Amen! The key is remembering that our whole purpose in this life is to expose people to the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ according to Romans 10:13-15 KJV
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Our preaching, speaking and teaching brings the knowledge of God to uninformed people so that they know there is an option a way (a choice, an alternate way) to live victorious in this earth. We speak the Word of God not just for God’s sake only but it is much better for the people who believe and become converted. Verse 14 states without someone physically speaking, preaching and/or teaching God’s Word people will not be saved. Also, according to verse 15 we just don’t decide to do something good but we (by all means) should be sent. This basically means God should be included in the plan to save and help (develop) people. The thought of starting a good work in this earth that is supposed to bless the public should be inspired by God and worked with God. Amen! Therefore our feet should be headed in the right direction toward God by preaching, teaching and speaking truth (light, life, God), not magnifying the problems with other people in the earth (the land, the world). Yes, the social media already does that around the clock (24 hours a day for the 7 days of the week). We (Believers, Christians) should not follow their example because if we (Christians) don’t preach God’s Word who will? In Ephesians 6:13-15 KJV we read a similar thought:
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
First notice that the evil day is describing life upon the earth, this verse is not referring to our next life in Heaven because there is no trouble or sorrow there. The evil day is when we face troubling tests and trials right now. We are supposed to stand for righteousness no matter what which includes standing against unrighteousness. In verse 14 we stand by having our mind renewed with the Word of God (Truth) and our hearts covered (filled) with doing what is right (righteousness). Moreover, “your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace” simply means we should always be going in God’s direction and yes, we will need to take the gospel to people because it is more rare to have people come up to us and ask us for instructions on how to lead them to the Lord. We take the message of Good News to the street because the media won’t evangelize the world to follow Jesus Christ. Most people don’t even know they need to be saved because many believe in their heart, “If I just live a good life I qualify for Heaven.” However, true disciples of Jesus know all to well that it doesn’t work that way at all but they too must humble themselves by calling upon the Name of The Lord Jesus to be saved.
In summary, please apply mercy to all those whose job is facing impending danger every day. We (ihlcc) believe that even some police men and police women awake every morning fully understanding that each day I should live unto the Lord Jesus as Supreme Ruler over all public offices and God over all people. Next choose to love them in their current state because God loves us all day everyday no matter what. This genuine heart felt love will allow you to forgive the person in authority (policeman, politician, government leader) who executes unrighteous judgment against an innocent person. After that be prepared with the Gospel of Peace to minister God’s Word of peace and righteousness because God’s Love, mercy and forgiveness is the only correct remedy (solution) to the problem of “innocent people being harmed or killed” by a man (or men) in authority. Yes, we repeat, “Black Lives Matter” and “White Lives Matter too” and yes, “All Lives Matter” but above all three of those movements “God’s Life matters” the most because without God’s Life you are left with complete death and darkness all over this world. Amen! According to 2 Peter 3:9 KJV we read:
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
We need to let His Mind (God’s Mind) be our frame of mind whenever dealing with these grievous situations of trouble upon the earth for (because) in the world you shall have trouble but be of good cheer for I (Jesus and you within Jesus) have already overcome the world (and the injustices and iniquities involved in it). Amen!
John 16:33 KJV
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
This is the message we take to the streets. Jesus is the reason we breathe life every morning. Jesus is our Lord, champion and Hero. This is the time, today is the day of salvation. Is it not the right time to seek peace here in America and pray for this nation? Pray not that God should condemn wicked guilty sinners but rather pray for God to have mercy upon us all by forgiving our leaders when they commit harmful sins and strengthening the righteous in authority to stand up and preach, teach and speak God’s Word with boldness and compassion. For this is what matters most in the progressive movement of “God’s Life Matters” in Jesus Name. Amen!
In His Love, Eric & Angela Foster
