ENDURANCE

Scripture Reading - Hebrews 12:1-3

1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. KJV

Children of God we know that we are facing various trials in this life, but don’t faint. The word of God tells us to endure. Notice in verses 2 and 3 the word “endured” is used in reference to Jesus our Chief Example and Lord. We too must endure the challenges of this life. We can do it effectively by looking unto Jesus daily, consistently, prayerful, praisefully with patience. Let us not be in a hurry, because haste enhances fatigue. Let us walk by faith and if we do need to jog let us prepare for a marathon not a 100 yard dash. We are called to finish our race with Joy. Yes His joy as our strength which means we must be patience with people, endure all trials and most importantly keep our eyes on the prize, the high calling of Jesus Christ our Lord, for He is our Salvation. Amen!
